Participants in this workshop will learn about light theory and optics. They will make their own pinhole cameras to produce black and white photographs. The pinhole camera is constructed from a container and does not require a glass lens. Through the use of the pinhole camera we learn traditional photographic methodology.

The workshop is instructed by Jaana Maijala (Finland) and Ernest Truely (U.S.A./Estonia) Participants can photograph outdoors or in our studio from several interesting tableaux with costumed and nude models. We provide photo chemicals, some film and photo paper.

July 10 16:00 - 21:00 You will learn about optics and light theory and make your own cameras.
July 11 13:00 - 18:00 You will learn to make photo negatives and positives and have opportunities to photograph outdoors and from the model in a studio setting.

50 Euro for two day workshop and includes entrance to the festival
15 Euro for the festival only (3 days ticket)

Each participant should bring one or more boxes or containers. The size of the container may vary but you should be able to easily open and close the container and when closed the container should seal out all light.
Bring rolls of color and/or black and white films.

Der Workshop beschäftigt sich mit Lichttheorie und Optik. Die Teilnehmer bauen ihre eigene Lochkamera und nutzen sie zur Schwarz-Weiß-Fotografie. Eine Lochkamera besteht aus einem Karton und kommt ohne Glaslinse aus. Durch das Fotografieren mit einer Lochkamera wird im Workshop die traditionelle fotografische Methodologie nähergebracht.

Geleitet wird der Workshop von Jaana Maijala (Finnland) und Ernest Truely (USA/Estland). Die Teilnehmer können sowohl Außenaufnahmen machen als auch im Studio mit verschiedenen Aktmodellen oder Modellen im Kostüm arbeiten. Fotochemikalien, einige Filme und Fotopapier werden bereitgestellt.

10. Juli, 16:00 - 21:00 Uhr: Die Teilnehmer beschäftigen sich mit Optik und Lichttheorie und bauen ihre eigenen Kameras.
11. Juli, 13:00 - 18:00 Uhr: Die Teilnehmer lernen, Negative und Positive anzufertigen. Im Anschluss gibt es Zeit Aufnahmen im Freien oder von Modellen im Studio zu machen.

Einen oder mehrere Kartons oder Behälter. Die Größe der Kartons ist nicht entscheidend - sie sollten sich jedoch leicht öffnen und schließen lassen. In den geschlossenen Karton darf kein Licht eindringen.
Eine oder mehrere Rollen bunt oder schwarz/weiss Filme.
